how do you feel about other members of roosterteeth using r*tard and making rape jokes?

calebtdenecour answered:

This message has sat in my inbox for a while, mostly because I have conflicting views. It’s a scenario where I believe in people’s right to say what they’d like all while believing/supporting that often means I’m supporting people even when they say things I don’t agree with or wouldn’t say myself. I’ll do my best:

I feel that people have the right to make jokes and say what they’d like to say. I fear that if we lived in a world where we couldn’t say or do things because they offend someone else, we’d end up trapped in a colorless world like in the Giver (fantastic book of you haven’t read it already).

I also feel that people should do their best not to intentionally offend any person or group.

Not sure this answers your question, I’m sorry if it didn’t.

As a student trying to aspire to become a teacher, Professor Oobleck’s speech made me gain a greater appreciation for him. After hearing his line of being able to “take knowledge- the most powerful weapon of them all- and place it in the hands of every student in my classroom”, it struck a chord in me and made me start to cry. I hope at one point in my life, I can be the same way for my future students.
